First, I want to say hello to all the new subscribers! Welcome to The Traveling Drifter Newsletter. I hope you enjoy my posts, especially those about the amazing city of Charleston.
What Is New
Charleston is at that perfect sweet spot of warm weather but not too much humidity. This is one of my favorite times of the year and one of the best months to visit The Holy City.
I wanted to let everyone know that I have been spending a lot of time working on my TikTok reels. You will be ablet to get a lot of great ideas about Charleston from there. Make sure to check it out and follow. The Traveling Drifter's TikTok.
Like I said, May is one of the best months to visit Charleston. A couple big things that I recommend doing is check out a rooftop bar and getting brunch, especially outside while the weather is perfect. I am going to be highlighting those two amazing things today in this newsletter.
Best Rooftop Bars In Charleston
Charleston has some amazing views while grabbing a bite to eat or drink. One of my favorite things about the city is that there are no real tall buildings. So when you are on a rooftop, you will be able to take in all types of views.
Take time to admire the church steeples dotting the city's skyline or take in a beautiful sunset while having your favorite drink. There are even some rooftop bars that will give you a great view of the water.
Charleston takes brunch serious. You will see people dress up and make brunch a true event. Brunch is a different animal in The Holy City. People will stay in at night just to get up for brunch the next day.
Whether you are looking for classic brunch items like eggs and bacon or true Southern dishes like shrimp and grits, you will be able to find your perfect brunch in Charleston. Make sure to try as many locations as possible.
The Angel Oak Tree, located on Johns Island just outside Charleston, South Carolina, is a breathtaking Southern live oak estimated to be over 400 years old. Standing about 65 feet tall with limbs stretching over 180 feet, it’s considered one of the oldest living things in the Southeast.
Its massive canopy provides a shaded, peaceful setting that draws thousands of visitors each year.The Angel Oak has become a beloved symbol of natural beauty and resilience in the Lowcountry.
